Why this book?

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) affects approximately 1 in 200 children and adolescents, making it crucial to provide tailored resources for this demographic. Despite the existence of Evidence-Based Exposure Therapy for OCD, which has been an effective treatment for years, there remains a notable scarcity of books specifically designed for young children with OCD.

About the Authors

Drs. Megan Barthle-Herrera and Amanda Marie Balkhi completed their doctoral training in Psychology from the University of Florida. While there, Drs. Balkhi and Barthle-Herrera developed a deep appreciation for the children and families impacted by Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

Today, Dr. Barthle-Herrera is a professor within the OCD, Anxiety, and Related Disorders psychology clinic in the University of Florida Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Program while Dr. Balkhi is the Executive Director of the Balkhi Foundation. Together they hope to make treatment for childhood OCD a little bit easier for young children and their families.
